Isabelle initially disliked Clary intensely because she felt that Clary messed up the dynamics between the original trio, Alec, Jace and Izzy. Gradually though, their relationship improved as they set aside their differences and chose to form a sort of amity and camaraderie. They eventually became good friends who are there for each other and have opened up to one another on several occasions.[1]
