Some Excerpts
This is the part where my sister Suzanne wants me to ‘fess up to The Mod Squad fanfiction I wrote in our childhood. It’d be hard to recreate those gems of stories, however, since they were oral. When Suzanne and I were girls, she used to tell me earlier in the day what kind of a bedtime story she wanted to hear that evening. Which characters from which shows and what kinds of elements – an ill-fated romance, murder, mayhem – she’d name them and I’d come up with the tale. And when it had been told, in all of its gory glory, she’d tell me what she thought of the dramaturgy, dialogue and continuity. This was my early training in storytelling. I guess the short answer is “yes, I have always written fiction.”
I’m going to jump on the continuity bandwagon and say that not only the mytharc needs [a change]. CC & Co. need to cease the needless personality regressions that both of our heroes have been subject to in the past couple of years. The relationship is no longer a question in my mind – he needs to lose the ambiguity and to let it continue to grow and develop with no regression upon Mulder’s return.
