Bodie and Doyle are at Ray's family home for Christmas, playing with his younger niece and nephew. Ray is worried about the older boy, who has got in with a bad crowd. They get him to admit to being supposed to help in the robbery of a shop.

B & D foil the robbers and hand them over to the police. Later, in Doyle's childhood room, a drunken Bodie reveals that from the age of six (because of his step-father) he was a battered child. When he has a nightmare later on, Doyle comforts him and they share a bed. Waking aroused, they have sex and realise they love one another.

There is not a very Christmassy feel to this story, although the domestic scene at the start is cosy enough. I got the feeling that the robbery plot was mere padding, and didn't have much point- to it.

This story does have Doyle worrying in case he is gay, and Bodie reassuring him that he's not, as he only fancies Bodie it's not just sex but love. I know some readers will cringe at this, but I've already made my opinion known 'and it's okay by me.
