Reactions and Reviews
1996
A delicate and focused story taking place after ST1 when Spock returns to the Enterprise. Spock and Kirk play chess in Kirk's quarters and they start talking on intimate terms about their feelings for each other. They have had an indication of a l]ink between them and Spock explains that was one of the reasons he left to go Gol. "I once thought if I remained ignorant of human terms for emotion 1 would remain ignorant of their reality." Isn't that a beautiful line?Spock says if he had really understood Kirk he wouldn't have left him. Kirk says "It doesn't matter, you're here now."
Of course they don't finish the chess game. What a wonderful story. [1]
