The Charlie Bone Fandom Wiki Shalowlore is a grouping of fan content by multiple creators, primarily Ry12ab, which was published in the form of pages on the Charlie Bone Wiki.

The Charlie Bone Wiki is a major information source on the Children of the Red King series and related series by Jenny Nimmo and is at present thought to be mostly accurate, due to extensive editing and information gathering coordinated via Discord. However, it has had periods of dramatic vandalism, spamming, and fanmade content labelled as canon content in the past. Most notably, it once hosted over a dozen pages concerning the lore of one fan and editor's OCs and invented locations. The lore was intricate enough that it was nearly impossible to distinguish between canon and fanon information, particularly since a considerable number of characters appear solely in the standalone novels, which a large percentage of the fandom does not read, and because the page author cited ersatz book passages in which the OCs allegedly appeared. Though the pages were taken down, they and their lore remained notorious in the fandom,[1] and they were eventually reinstated in the Watercooler section of the wiki. Fan art which was put on pages was also transferred to the Watercooler.

OC Wiki Pages

The Leylind Lore

The Leylind lore, also knows as the Magewood-Azmuth-Vane lore, seems to have been created by Ry12ab, with many superficial page edits done by RavenDarkholme. The OCs are discussed as if actual characters in CotRK, with some entries referring to nonexistent parts of the books where they appear.

  • Leylind was the non-canonical twin of canon character Petrello who had power over tectonic activity, could manipulate, speak to, and shapeshift into plants; and was the ancestor of the non-canonical Magewood, Azmuth, and Vale families. He also had various magical objects and a fanon daughter named Lienna who married a merromal named or surnamed Magewood. Their descendants were part human and part beast.
  • Gadrian Magewood married Amber, and they had three children, fraternal twins Trinity and Skye and youngest son Pagian. Gadrian was the headmaster at non-canonical Mage Academy, which Trinity and Skye attended. Gadrian had telepathy and mind control, could shift his physical age, and had shapeshifting limited to cat forms. The page said he “is likely very handsome and quite tall, as his son Skye is in the book”, though Skye is not in the book either.
  • Amber Magewood (née Azmuth) was endowed with plant and earth manipulation.
  • Trinity Magewood had various cold-related powers and the ability to create charms by putting power into objects. The charms were exhausting to create, could only be used by others, and were activated using Welsh. Like many characters in Ry12ab’s lore, she was described as being unusually beautiful.
  • Skye Magewood, the most fleshed-out character in the lore, was a naturalist, age changer, earthshaker, telepath, and shapeshifter limited to plant and monkeys.
  • Pagian Magewood had the ability to shapeshift into virtually any animal.
  • Jazmin Umberstone, an Art student at Bloor’s, good descendant of Guanhamara, best friend of Trinity, and girlfriend of Skye, had both healing powers and the ability to see but not otherwise sense what was going on anywhere at any time. She was also described as unusually beautiful.
  • Walt Griffin was a good endowed Art student at MA, a timeshifter descended from Amoret. He could temporarily “slow down the time around him…but not completely stop it, so that he seems to be travelling at super speeds” and could sometimes speed time up slightly.
  • Jordan Stone was an unendowed MA Art student with artistic gifts, vocal talent, and quick thinking skills. His mother and younger brother were endowed.
  • Travis Silver, a bad endowed child in the Drama department at MA, was Skye’s nemesis. He was descended from both Borlath and Lilith and dual-endowed with umbrakinesis and the power to bring fire and heat to his fingertips.
  • The Vane family, though mentioned, was never described.

Other OCs with pages

  • Estefán Juárez Guerrero Llegerte de Guadalajara’s page was created by 64.30.37.102 rather than Ry12ab and was in Spanish, so he was probably unconnected to the Leylind line lore. He was from Guadalajara, Mexico; had red hair and blue eyes; had the power to do whatever he wanted; preferred to live in the moment; and was 9184 years old.
  • The page “Charlie’s Children” was created by 27.99.27.179 and described Charlie marrying Olivia Vertigo and having children with her as well as becoming the owner of the Academy.

A endowing love

"A endowing love" is a piece of fanfiction by Fandom User 69.105.177.19 which was published as a wiki page. Known for its poor punctuation and abrupt ending, it concerns a few members of the good endowed as they anticipate an upcoming school dance. Near the end, Olivia Vertigo makes an ominous mention of Zelda Dobinski, who has mysteriously returned to the Academy. As a notable piece of fan content, it was transferred to the Watercooler section of the wiki rather than deleted.

The Second Children of the Red King Wiki

Possibly because the Charlie Bone Wiki is named after the title character rather than the series title, a second wiki for the series, named the Children of the Red King Wiki, was created. It had very few pages, but its pages were thorough and information transfers from that wiki to the main wiki were used to restore pages which had been vandalized or lacked information. Its existence by a more accurate name for a while created a "wiki limbo" phenomenon in which people were less readily able to access the active wiki than the dead, mostly empty one. It is no longer searchable and may have been taken down.
