Caveat Emptor was a mimeographed science fiction fanzine edited by John Thiel, with contributors Marion Zimmer Bradley, Bob Farnham, Forrest J. Ackerman, Dan Adkins, Robert E. Gilbert, William Rotsler, Glenn King, John Stieglitz, and Dan Reddix. The first issue contains a story by the editor called "The House that Jack Built" about a man dwelling on an asteroid.
