The Dursleys go several steps further as they raise Harry in this fanfiction, brainwashing him to fear and despise all things magical, which happens to include himself. Going to Hogwarts challenges Harry on numerous levels, as he fights the traitorous temptation to become an 'unnatural freak' and affects a slow, clumsy persona to hide his aversion towards all things magical. Though Harry's attempts at subterfuge are but child's play for Severus Snape, will he open his mind and his eyes long enough to see what's really going on?[1]
The Dursley damage Harry much more then canon. A great psychological study of abuse.[2]
