Reactions and Reviews

1996

Totally, utterly, completely satisfying-^this very short story about "Generations" is exactly what I needed to wash the taste of the movie out of my mouth!

It is perfect. There. And I adored the ending. Thank you, Robin! [1]

2007

It would probably not be a very big stretch of the imagination to presume that this author is not a fan of “Generations.” That being said, she does manage to weave a very short but equally enjoyable vignette that answers some important questions. Picard comes to see Kirk at his cabin as seen in the movie, requesting — no, demanding — his assistance with a problem of galactic import. Kirk is more interested in who waits for him upstairs and tells Picard so in no uncertain terms. Antonia, you ask? I don’t think so. The person who’s sharing his cabin and his life is much more familiar to us than Antonia. I love the personality Robin assigns to Kirk’s very favorite Vulcan. He is so relaxed and comfortable being who he is and so pleased and proud to be with Kirk. Nice answer, Robin! [2]
