Carlanime Bligh, as a fan writer, writes femslash, het, and gen in numerous fandoms, deriving from literary canon and British and North American media canon. (She is Canadian, after all.) She is noted for wit and a subtle humour, which is particularly apparent in her works in the Harry Potter and House, M.D. fandoms, and in her several crossovers. It tends to show through even in her darker works.
On which subject, Miss Bligh – discovering the phenomenon of ‘Real Dolls’ online – reacted to it as many would, with horrified amusement; and thereupon, as few have, took it in hand and published as profic, through Changeling Press, a series of e-books deriving from that phenomenon, in which her scientific training and Religious Studies degree result in quirky intersections.
