This is the one that first turned me into a fan of Eva's - I loved the delicious hints of G/B (which Eva told me she really didn't emphasize!) as well as the way she wrote Garak all on his own. In fact, I have to go back and re-read this one - I was so thrilled to come across it the first time. [1]
This was my first introduction to Eva's stories, and it didn't take me long to become a fan. Here she introduces a mysterious stranger -- an old chum of Garak's -- and the plot immediately begins to thicken.... Eva has a real gift for 'Cardassian thinking' (and I'm afraid I do have a weakness for our scaly friends ;)), and she writes a wonderful, complex and unsentimental Odo as well. So Eva, are you ever going to come out with a sequel to this one?[2]
