Captain James Hook is a Peter Pan character in all adaptations, in which he is Peter Pan's archenemy.
Canon
Captain Hook is a pirate captain of the Jolly Roger; Barrie identifies him as Blackbeard's former bo'sun. His two principal fears are the sight of his own blood (supposedly an unnatural colour) and the crocodile who pursues him after eating the hand cut off by Pan. An iron hook replaced his severed hand, which gave the pirate his name.

Captain Hook is an extremely popular character in the Peter Pan fandom.
Although Hook is mainly shipped with Wendy Darling throughout the various adaptions, he has been paired up with Peter Pan, Smee, Tinkerbell, and Tiger Lily. Pairing Hook with original characters have also appeared within various adaptations.
