Canon
Palamedes Sextus is Warden of the Sixth House, a very brilliant necromancer, and Camilla Hect is his cavalier. Palamedes wears glasses and has striking grey eyes that are said to be his only attractive feature, and Camilla has blunt-cut dark hair with a fringe. Her weapons are two double-edged blades, an unconventional but very effective choice. They are both 20 years old at the start of the series.
They are prominent secondary characters in Gideon the Ninth, and have less prominent roles in Harrow the Ninth. They are the main characters in the short story The Mysterious Study of Dr. Sex, set several years prior to the main book series, when they were both 13.
Camilla and Palamedes' relationship seems to be especially strong, even compared to other necromancer/cavalier pairs. They are rarely if ever separated, require few words to communicate, and trust one another completely.
