History
Themes
Bigotry
Possibly started in the late 2010s, C-Gaming community, like other Chinese-Speaking Fandom, has adopted narrative that promotes Chinese nationalism and discredits liberalism. Some Chinese gamers believe that right advocates in western countries, usually Western liberals, are responsible for the creation of "rotten" games,[note 1] and that persecution against right advocates is acceptable.
Internet slang
Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video games, such as League of Legends, are viewed as being popular in mainland China. Several Internet slang in mainland China are originated from MOBA games and have been used outside the C-Gaming community.
Notes
- ^ Games which are frequently mentioned as "rotten" include Frostpunk (2018), The Last of Us Part II (2020), Concord (2024)
