"Brother and Sister "[1] is a short story written by fawatson for queen_ypolita as a treat for Yuletide 2010. The request asked for: “something about Vivian pre-book or post-book. With pre-book, I think it would be interesting to have something about Vivian and Jan when they were younger.” The story explores the relationship between the siblings when they were younger and Vivian was living at home and yearning to go to university (with no real hope of this), while Jan was rebelling against his father’s wishes about his university major and career plans. The different options open to men and women of the period are evident.
The story received little attention, eliciting one kudos from a guest to the archive and one comment from the intended recipient:
