Summary from the 1986 flyer: "Briar Rose tells the story of a six strong scientific expedition from Vulcan to the planet Pantellek. When civil unrest in a nearby city threatens the safety of the party, James Kirk and his crew are sent on a rescue mission to pull them out. The simple assignment turns dramatically more complicated, however, when all but one of the Vulcan party are taken prisoner before the Enterprise arrives -- and the one free member has a big shock in store for everybody's favourite Admiral."
