Ray Bradbury (August 22, 1920 – June 5, 2012) was an influential American author, screenwriter and producer who was also a member of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society and The Count Dracula Society. One of his most notable works was Fahrenheit 451, a 1953 dystopian novel.
Forrest J Ackerman was an early supporter of Bradbury in fannish circles. He encouraged him to publish Futuria Fantasia at the age of 18 and would recommend Bradbury's work in the pages of his own fanzines.[1][2]
