Bloodborne is a third-person RPG horror game by FromSoftware. The game is a spiritual successor to Dark Souls, specifically the first game, with it originally being a shadow sequel to Demon's Souls. The combination fandom for the Souls and Bloodborne games together is "Soulsborne".
The game takes place in Yharnam, a British-inspired city where the entire economy is based around blood. The protagonist must find out the mysteries of the town, its beast plague along with the mystifying arcane. The game features solo as well as multiplayer gameplay. With the PVP aspect of the game taking a following of its own.
Fandom
The Bloodborne fandom is at its core, an extension of the entire Soulsborne fandom, since the games are so intertwined with the same audience. However, Bloodborne's is particularly more small due to the fact the game is exclusive to PS4 and above. Nevertheless the fandom is quite large and most fandom activities consist of Fanart, however the most popular form of interaction are videos about the lore of the game. Due to the mystical nature of how the game's story is told along with its vagueness allows for a large intake of different perspectives, meaning most interpretations could be right or wrong.
This fandom mainly posts to YouTube and Tumblr.
Cut Content
Cut Content, as it describes itself, is content that is cut from a game due to a multitude of reasons. Bloodborne is infamous for having a terrible development cycle due to time constraints and other various issues. All of Soulsborne cut content is usually interesting and has a following, but Bloodborne has a particular deep interest due to the amount and subject matter. Originally, Bloodborne was a literal sequel to the beginning of the Souls franchise, Demon's Souls. From this, it changed dramatically and plot changes occurred and many characters were cut and added. These aspects intrigued the fandom immensely leading to the topic being talked about a lot despite the game being almost a decade old.
