Reactions and Reviews
A slight revision and expansion of the 1991 zine Invocation for a Child (no longer in print). The text is listed as "copyright 1991, 1995." Some of the art goes back to 1990, including work by Shirlea Hatcher, Barbara Gipson, Dragon. This story centers around murdered child Melissa (formerly Amy). In the original story, Amy was a ghost; in this story, Melissa's haunting is strictly figurative, as Diana takes on the job of identifying her killer, with Vincent's help. Also involved is Diana's unexpected skill as a maker of marionettes as she and Vincent combine to establish a puppet theater, Below.
Although Vincent and Diana are greatly fond of one another here, this story has them keeping their distance, romantically. Matters between them are still in the very tentative approach stages. Followed by And a Little Child Shall Lead Them, a direct continuation of this story. [1]
