About the Art
The cover of this zine is an uncredited (though signed, if you look hard enough) reproduction of a Lisa Stubblefield cover for Lisa Stubblefield's own 1990 zine, now out of print. A 1990 portrait of Diana by Dragon is the only interior art. [2]
Reactions and Reviews
This affectionate but unromantic pairing of Vincent and Diana centers around feral street-waif Jenny, a mistrustful and hostile child who does not fit in well or easily into the Tunnel Community. Diana's marionettes, introduced in Bless the Beast, figure in bringing Jenny to confront her past and accept her future. The novel concludes with an unrelated account of a celebration of Father's Day, Below. There's occasionally some nice byplay between shy, diffident Vincent and shy, diffident Diana, but the story's sole emotional intensity rests with Jenny. The cover of this zine is an uncredited (though signed, if you look hard enough) reproduction of a Lisa Stubblefield cover for Lisa Stubblefield's own 1990 zine now out of print. A 1990 portrait of Diana by Dragon is the only interior art. [3]
