Blacktober is a creative works challenge open to Black creatives in all media fandoms. After the event submissions were collected into a free zine by the organizers.
The original creators and official organized event announced its sunsetting in August of 2023.[1] Participation and celebrations of Blacktober have continued on multiple platforms after 2023.
