From a Submission Request
A HAWL press special edition celebrating, embracing, and otherwise fermenting Quantum Leap slash! Planning for this summer, still accepting submissions. Guidelines: Not particularly keen on violence/ nonconsensual stuff, though in some cases it can be dramatically worth it. Just rather it not be gratuitous. Stories should be well written, with some attention paid to spelling, grammer [sic], and punctuation. We do publish crossovers and humor — just remember this is an erotic zine. Only material not previously published in zines or on the internet will be accepted.
About
From the editorial:
When we as adults read the beloved fairy tales of childhood... we can't help but reinterpret them through the eyes of experience. There are levels of meaning that we either didn't catch the first time, being too innocent, or else noticed and shrugged off, having no basis for comparison. But there it all is, underneath Wonderland and Narnia and the Emerald City, telling stories to the Childlike Empress out in the Murry family garden. There are deep currents of pain and struggle and redemptions of all kinds. Good and evil in profuse shades of gray, not just the two we saw at one time. Love in many forms. It isn't quite fair to compare Quantum Leap to children's books, at least no literally. Quantum Leaps stories are frank and feeling stories about terribly grown-up things. But they are also stories of our kind, clever, reluctant hero and our loving, clever, steadfast hero to right the unrightable wrongs and dream impossible dreams. And if you look at it that way, it is a love story. There's no place like happily-ever-after.
