This is set after the second movie, "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" and is a more satisfying conclusion for Mulder and Scully. It answers questions about Mulder and Scully's lives together, brings William back into the picture, and sets them on the path to a life together now that Mulder has been exonerated. Anjou is one of my favorite fan fiction authors. Mulder and Scully are in character and the story is beautifully written.[1]
