Some Excerpts
I remember when [Starsky and Hutch] first aired -- I had missed the first few shows, but everyone in school was talking about this show, so my sisters and I decided to take a look. We were hooked right away and had to sneak downstairs late at night when they changed the airing time. 'The Fix' was the start of my falling in love with the show.
I doubt Starsky would have been able to go back and do exactly the same things that they were doing before [he was shot in "Sweet Revenge"]. But that's only in the real world. In mine, I can't imagine anything changing. I just want them to go on doing the same things until the end of time. Thank goodness for fanfic where this can actually happen!
I started writing shortly after Starsky and Hutch aired again on A&E several years ago. I caught the beginning of an episode, heard the theme song, saw that Torino and a huge grin split my face. Then I started dabbling with a few story ideas that I never thought I would ever have the courage to share. But I let it slip to a dear S&H friend of mine and she kept pestering me until I let her read it. So it's her fault I started posting my stories, but I'm sure glad she did. 'Crush' was the first one I wrote and shared. I'm embarrassed when I read it now, but I'm so glad that it started my writing in fanfic.
I'm definitely a hurt/comfort junkie, so I tend to write (and read) those most often. I kind of like having them in non-work situations a lot of the time, too, although I'm trying to expand my writing into different areas and try new things.
[I wouldn't change a thing about the show.] That's what fanfic is for, filling in all those blanks where we'd like to know more. If it was all given to us, our imaginations wouldn't have as much freedom.
Nothing has grabbed me as much as S&H and I don't think RL could handle being as involved in a second fandom *g*.
