Bang Chan (Bahng Christopher Chan, 방찬) is the leader of the K-Pop group, Stray Kids. Born 03 October 1997, is the eldest member and the leader of the group. He sings, raps and dances and is also a member of the song writing and producing unit 3racha. Bang Chan is the primary member that participates in the arrangement of all SKZ songs. He was raised in Sydney, Australia.

Chan's Room

The first episode of Chan's Room occurred on the 2nd of January 2019. Bang Chan would do livechats with Stays, promising that starting June 2020 to do them once a week after fans expressed that having previously waited a month between live chats was difficult. He considered it therapeutic, having a community to interact with in such a way.

A rumor had spread stating Chan said the company would no longer allow him to host Chan's Room. However, he later posted on bubble stating that he could not continue the show for the time being, due to scheduling.

The past couple of weeks he’s been messaging on bubble on Sunday nights when he would have normally been doing Chan’s Room. I’m starting to think he doesn’t want to do it anymore, but he just doesn’t want to say. I mean, he doesn’t have to do it, and it was always going to come to an end one day. It’s been over two months since his last live and he used to keep it up no matter how busy he was. I get it. I’m just not ready for it to end yet 😩

Controversy

A theory as to why Chan's Room dropped off, was that Chan had gotten discouraged after making an apology for something he'd said in a Live.

he mentioned that he thinks it's sad that some younger people don't greet their elders because he was raised to do so and thinks it's the polite thing to do. and then some people started making accusations who he could've been talking about and then "stays" drew conclusions about which idols specifically he could've meant although he, at no point, mentioned ANY names. and then people got upset and singled him out and blamed him and he got so much backlash that he had to apologize publicly :( which isn't fair because he's not the first one to address this, other members of big groups have talked about this too, but he got singled out for it.

it was not Stays place (especially after he asked us not to)to seek out and go after other groups. This is the consequences of that action. [...] Don't have Bubble so didn't know he had posted saying he wouldn't be doing Chan's Room. Just guessed that it was 1 of 3 reasons. 1) He was upset with Stays for doing what he asked not to be done and this was the punishment (but he doesn't seem to be like that) 2) He was instructed that he no longer could do them without supervision and this was his way of rebelling against that. 3) He was looking for a way to end Chan's Room and took this incident as his opportunity. I don't know what exactly he posted (wording wise) in Bubble to get an idea if this was communicated as a possible forever hiatus or said he wouldn't be doing them for a bit. Either way I am sure some fandoms are happy for our suffering.
