Some Excerpts

I'm what you would call a manip artist. I create photo manipulations featuring characters from Supernatural. Particularly Sam and Dean Winchester. I work entirely in Photoshop. I am self taught. I've learned a lot just playing around with different tools and occasionally trying out a random tutorials I find in a google search and here on LJ. I've only been doing manips for about three years. I was originally a vidder in the Smallville fandom. I needed a couple of manips for one of my Clex vids and decided to give it a try myself.... As I'm sure many of you know, manips can be pretty scary things. We've all seen bad manips. I've done bad manips. But they aren't all just pasted on heads. Sometimes they can be beautiful and thought provoking. They are often a great compliment to fics, AUs in particular.

I get a lot of my bases from a place called manip_res. Most of the pictures posted there contain full frontal nudity which I can't use, but I sometimes use them for body parts. LOL That sounds so awful! But usually it isn't just the heads that are manipulated. I've worked with bases covered in non Sam/Dean like tattoos so I'll have to remove that arm and replace it with one without a tattoo. Or Jared's arm is very veiny so I'll have to replace it. Replace the hands. That sort of thing. manip_res also posts model photos sometimes that I can use. I've used pictures from Bel Ami that strippedpink posted long ago. I used to have a bookmark to some gorgeous artistic gay photography, but I can't find it now that I'm on a different computer. *sob* I love feedback period:) I'm such a comment whore. I just like knowing that someone is looking and enjoying. I love detailed feedback too. That always makes me feel amazing. But I always think my responses are super lame and really like when the comments reach that point where they collapse. LOL
