The Artemis Fowl series, despite being popular, is not a very well-known fandom, as referenced in this image of a Tumblr post. Before being released, the Artemis Fowl fandom speculated about the upcoming movie adaptation of their book series.

The film has received much criticism from fans of the series and newcomers alike due to the changes made in the adaptation. The casting choices were controversial; Julius Root is now female and played by Judi Dench and Juliet is Butler's 12 year old niece, for example. The adaptation has also come under criticism for the alterations to the plot which are vastly different to the novels it is based on.

The overwhelmingly popular ship in Artemis Fowl has been Artemis Fowl II/Holly Short. Smaller pairings have popped up as time has gone on, but as of now, Artemis/Holly remains the champion on both and Archive of Our Own.
