One meme related to Applejack that was popular in the early days of the fandom was saying that Applejack is a background pony or that Applejack is the best backgound pony [1][2]. It was usually commenting and criticizing the fact that she received less attention that the rest of the main characters in the show, with less episodes focused on her, less songs, and often being left out on merchandising, while also joking about the fandom's love of background characters.
