Anime Weekend Atlanta, also known as AWA-con, is a 4-day anime convention taking place annually during September/October in Atlanta, GA. It is one of the largest such conventions in the Southeast of the US.
Attendance at the most recent event (2022) measured over 32,000 attendees.
History
In 2013, AWA hosted 10th anniversary celebrations for the imageboard 4chan, with the founder of the site supposedly in attendance.[1]
Like many conventions, AWA shifted to an online format during 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
