Angels and Devils is a Harry/Draco slash novel by Beren. The story features Veela!Draco and the online version has an anime/manga style fanfiction cover.
Summary
- "Harry defeated Voldemort: his act of heroism is famous throughout the wizarding world. He’s trying to finish his final year at Hogwarts in peace, but something peculiar is happening to him, something he never would have expected. It's all rather embarrassing and making his life very complicated."
Reactions and Reviews
After a few days of back pain, Harry finds himself with, well, wings. And a sudden urge to show off for Draco Malfoy. Let the cliches begin! This is a story you have to accept for what it is -- it isn't perfectly written (where did all the commas go?!) and it's shamelessly cliched, but then that's the point. If you are looking for sophisticated literary writing with unlikable protagonists, sterile relationships, and depressing endings then this not the story for you. However, if you are have a secret love of boys with wings, enemies who are (biologically) forced to bond, and/or a passion for Veela!Draco and Creature!Harry you should definitely give this story a try. Melodramatic, slightly ridiculous, and in the end, absolutely wonderful. [1]
Harry and Draco want so badly not to be together. They struggle, and fight against the pull and ultimately lose. This is a Veela!Draco story, but well worth the read.[2]
Harry is a mythical creature, Draco is a Veela, and, well, Harry courts him. It’s super interesting, this fic.[3]
Nicely written, complex exploration of the whole creature!fic theme. They both are creatures, and both resist as much as they can, but Harry bows sooner. Classic fic.[4]
Seraphim!Harry. Veela!-turned-Seraphim!Draco. A Harry who singlehandedly defeated Voldemort. A Draco who singlehandedly led a revolt in House Slytherin. Naturally, nothing they do can ever be anything but impossibly extraordinary.[5]
Beren. Is. GOD. I swear, s/he is an author up there at the top of the list people. Draco is a Veela, and Harry is very believably transforming into a magical creature called a Seraphim. Takes the usual cliche of "finding their mate" and makes it utterly believable by introducing actual biological reasons and reactions, without killing the romance.[6]
