Alt.tv.babylon-5 was an active and thriving newsgroup when Babylon 5 was on the air. Because the creator, J. Michael Straczynski, was active in the group, it had a strict "no fanfic, no speculations" policy, with dire warnings about "if we post our what-happens-next thoughts, JMS will have to leave the group for liability reasons."
So there was discussion about favorite scenes, and meta analyses of things that had happened, and upcoming event news (conventions, actor appearances, etc.) but no discussion of what people hoped would happen in the show.
