Reactions and Reviews
1991
This story reminded me a lot of those early classics where Kirk and Spock would face some sort of physical trauma that would affect their relationship, and in the process we would learn more about them. We're shown Kirk's fear of his love/self-sacrifice/rejection of Spock. Similarly, the Vulcan's abiding love is shown in the face of Kirk's denial of him throughout the story, as well. While it was a familiar theme and predictable in some respects, the feelings and emotions expressed still rang true. A good story that made me feel for the characters. [1]
