This timeline for Russian Language Fanfiction in the Pride and Prejudice fandom was originally compiled in 2007 for A History of Russian-Language Fanfiction by Daria Oblomskaya, with the editorial assistance of A.F. Busek. The original post is here.

1996

  • The BBC-miniseries with Colin Firth is shown on Russian TV (ORT) - which triggers the book's popularity in Russia. The series has been shown regularly since then, the book has been republised several times. (It was known in Russia before, but didn't have a fandom.) The BBC mini-series has also been rebroadcasted several times, with a different dubbing.

2003

2005

  • a new P&P movie with Keira Knightley as Elisabeth provokes a big wave of criticism from the fans of the mini-series (1996) and awakes a new interest to the novel bringing new people to the fandom. Initially, fen only read and discuss English-language fanfiction. The majority of the fics is fluff.

2006

2007

  • January 18, 2007 - Apropos starts publishing her In the Shade - a first novel-length P&P fan fic written in Russian on http://www.apropospage.ru (Colonel Fitzwilliam/Anne de Bourg)
  • February 11, 2007 -in her blog, Kate-kapella publishes her translation of Lusy's P&P fan fic Nature of Love
  • In March 2007 the fandom starts blooming. Several fics appear on http://www.apropospage.ru and on its forum:
    • March 13, 2007 - a first P&P short fic by Kate-kapella (viola) Birthday is posted on http://apropos.borda.ru/ . It begins the cycle A Girl Who Has Everything (Fitzwilliam/Georgiana)
    • March 24, 2007 - A Day In Life of Mr Collins (humor) by Tigrimlin is posted on the same forum
    • March 26, 2007- the first game fic A Horrible Crime by Kate-kapella (viola)
    • March 28, 2007-2 novel-length fics (WIPs) are posted: Bela's Epistolary Games (letters with classic pairings of D/E and Jane/Bingley); and Duty and Desire by Devushka iz Proshlogo (Kitty/OMC)
    • April 9, 2007 - Helmi Saari (Elena Pervushina) starts posting Barren Flower (Mary/OMC)
    • April 17, 2007 - Tanja Geller posts a humorous On Family Life which triggers a controversy on the forum. After some heated debates, fen splitted into the supporters of freedom of writing vs. supporters of its limitations
    • April 20, 2007 - Tanja Geller opens a P&P section on her forum Mirrors http://zerkala.fastbb.ru/?0-2-0 - without any rating/pairing imitations
  • Apropos confirms the rules established on her forum (rating till R; no slash & PWP) and makes some additions concerning AU and OOC (AU is possible only in case of minor characters or of argumented defence of negative characters). A special section is opened for dubious cases
  • Chakra's multifandom archive Fairytales starts accepting P&P fan fics
  • April 22–23 - fen discuss the appaerance of Tanja Gellers forum and come to the conclusion that any P&P forum or archive has a right to exist, and nobody will show any objections to authors' or readers' forum and archive preferences
  • April 23, 2007 - Mirrors and Apropos sites officially exchange links and banners

Active Russian-language Jane Austin sites:
