5_prompts was a LiveJournal-based prompt community that had 100 total prompt tables, with 5 prompts in each. There were 981 entries and 1,350 comments recorded in the community as of 2022. In 2013 a mirror community was created on Dreamwidth, but no fills were ever posted there.

5_prompts is a no-muss, no-fuss prompt community open to any writing - fandom or original! We exist so that people who love the fun and inspiration that prompt tables bring can use them without frustration or angst. Check out the FAQs if you have any questions about what you can and can't write.
Write using a Prompt Table
Every so often one prompt table will be added. Each prompt table has five prompts. You are allowed to use the prompts anyway you wish: literally or figuratively.
If you are interested in using any of the prompt tables, then feel free to post the table to your journal and start writing. You will not need to stake your claim to the prompt table for your fandom or your pairing. We will not be limiting any table to one particular fandom or one particular pairing at any given time. Our motto is THE MORE, THE MERRIER!
As you're working through the prompt table, post your writings to this community (and any others where you might want to post the story) with the appropriate tags, headers, and titles for ease of search. Upon completing any table, your lovely mods will post a completion post with links to all five of your pieces and present you with a nifty banner!
