Toph/Zuko, commonly known by the smush name Toko, is a het pairing in the series Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Canon

In Book 2, Toph doesn't directly confront Zuko much as he's mostly stopped chasing the Avatar by the time she joins the Gaang.

In Book 3, Toph is the least hostile member of the group to Zuko's petition to join the Gaang. The two have several more conversations together, including a fan-favorite scene during the Ember Island players episode.

Fandom

Gen works giving the two a friendship or sibling like relationship are more popular in the fandom, but there is a decent amount of fanworks shipping them as well.

Tropes

• Life changing field trip with Zuko: near the end of the show, Toph jokes that she's the only member of the Gaang who hasn't gone on "a life changing fieldtrip with Zuko". There are many fanworks about Toph and Zuko going on such an adventure together, either canon-divergence fic or post-canon.
• Arrange/political marriage: since they are both children of noble families, political alliance and arranged marriage is a common trope. Though it's mostly a gen fic, Embers has Toph raise the possibility of a political union in its denoument.
