Xena: Warrior Podcast is a weekly show where three film school grads (Vera, Katie, and Livy) over-analyze the Hades out of Xena: Warrior Princess.We love our TV criticism, but we've noticed that while critics credit other ‘90s shows like Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and The X-Files with important innovations that laid the groundwork for TV’s Golden Age, they fail to give the same consideration to Xena. With a reboot currently in development, it’s more important now than ever to give the original show its due, and that’s where we come in. On our podcast, we’ll be exploring the many ways that Xena pushed the medium forward: longform storytelling, formal and tonal experimentation, fandom development and fan interaction with the producers, representation and celebration of marginalized identities, you name it Xena was doing it!
