Wormsies is a Newsies meme AU where, instead of newspapers, the newsboys sell worms-on-strings.[1] It was created by the now-deactivated Tumblr user anna-without-an-a.[2] It may have begun earlier in the fandom's Amino community.[3]
it was late one December night. December 15th to be exact. And good ol @anna-without-an-e had made a post a day or two before that said “Newsies but they sell these” and it was a picture of Worms on a String. @racecrack-higgins then started drawing newsies selling worms and leaving them in people’s inboxes. This lead to the nickname “wormsies” being thrown around. Everything went quiet after that but this had been in my brain the entire day and I kept thinking about how much I genuinely loved it and then I got a wormsie in MY inbox and went feral. Spammed wormsie posts and everyone humored me at first and then joined in and in the high of it all we made a discord server which seemed dumb at the time but it ended up being amazing and now we’s family and have all proclaimed our undying love and gratitude to each other.watchin-all-the-worms-watchin-m[4]
