Worlds Connected is a fanzine for the Kingdom Hearts games. Despite its title, the zine functioned more as a Big Bang event.
About
The zine was announced with applications on June 1, 2016. The zine would function similarly to a Big Bang with a deadline and release date for all participants to post with a designated hashtag with which the zine's social media account would reblog. Depending on demand, the zine could also be available as a .pdf file[1].
In answers to inquiring fans, ships were enthusiastically allowed by mods to be featured in submissions and would be taken into account when pairing artists and authors. Reader insert fanfiction were also permitted, although mods urged that submissions remain focused on canon characters and interactions with other canon characters[2]. Submissions would also be relegated to SFW and non-explicit content[3].
Sign-ups closed on June 30, 2016, and artists and writers would be paired up by July 7th[4].
The zine was released on August 26, 2016, with over 200 participants at the time of release[5]. The mods running the project also announced plans to make a PDF compilation of the submissions, but this never appeared to come to fruition as the the zine's team were busier than expected[6].
