"Who now of all the Dancers...?" is a short story by Sandpipersummer based on Mary Renault's 1953 novel The Charioteer. It is set some time after the end of the novel, when Laurie returns to Bridstow from Oxford after making arrangements for the fall term.
As soon as he arrives, Laurie learns from Ralph that Andrew has been killed in an air raid on London—news that has only finally arrived by a most indirect route.
