Reactions and Reviews
I admit, I'm always a sucker for any fanfic that tries to rewrite a classic, and this is a very good one. I could almost see Liz and Dick playing this one out--in black leather, no less! It stayed true to the original while staying well within canon. Very good job! [1]
The format of Kathryn Ramage's Who's Afraid of Intendant Kira?, that of a story told as a script complete in three acts, was very novel and very interesting and very well done. Given that almost all of the story consisted of dialogue, the story was especially fast-paced and really zipped past. It made for a quick and gripping read. The story also had quite a few humorous touches and featured a really good twist ending. I certainly liked how in Who's Afraid of Intendant Kira? Kathryn Ramage played with the Mirror Universe that we saw in Deep Space Nine. It's always great to read a Mirror story that shows real imagination rather than being an excuse for sexual brutality. I felt the author was completely in control of her writing and of her characterizations, themes, and style. I really enjoyed Kira and Garak in this story. I liked how the story ended by answering the question set by the title. A very well done story. [2]
