It was apparently first seen on Instagram but gained its meme status once @rockcaandi reposted it to Twitter while writing "WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST FIND ON INSTAGRAM HELLO???" Edits with charatcers from other series' quickly emerged, with some artists choosing to redraw the MLP cast or draw new characters.
