Clocking in at just under 10K, this bedtime-story-sized fic has a basic conceit - Ancient Tech Gone Wrong - that’s done with style. Rodney becomes attractive to everyone who sees him. Attractive, of course, in the ways that are unique to every individual’s culture and personal preferences. It’s a great indirect way to worldbuild, and Rodney’s discomfort with the situation is wonderfully in character. John’s discomfort is deftly handled, without getting overwrought, and none of it is overexplained. [1]
