VaLu is pairing of Lu and Val in the Elite fandom.

Canon

VaLu is a plot line in season 2.

Season 3 begins with a decisive and compelling confession of love from Lu, and then the plotline is mysteriously dropped from the show altogether.

Fandom

Fans generally give a great deal of credit to actors Danna Paola and Jorge López for having on-point chemistry. Little credit is given to the showrunners, especially after season 3.

Dismayed by the lack of VaLu in season 3, a petition was created calling for a spin-off featuring them again. It got over 1,000 signatures.[1]

Tropes

  • "Nunca ames a alguien que te haga sentir ordinario." A quote from canon, often used as a tagline for the ship. Said to be a quote from Oscar Wilde, but probably a misquote, as the source is unknown.

Controversy

  • Incest: A portion of the fandom seems to think they're step siblings.[2][3] They constantly reaffirm that they are "medio hermanos" that it would be a way for them to say that they are almost brothers due to their strong union. In Spanish, "medio hermanos" means "half-siblings". "Step-siblings" would be "hermanastros". This misunderstanding is due in part to the language issues between the fandom and the show, as not everyone fan is Spanish-speaking.
