I am very much a multi-fandom person; I am or have been actively involved in many different fandoms including Harry Potter, Stargate, CSI, Star Wars, Buffy & Angel, Jane Austen, Doctor Who & Torchwood, and more. I have also been a reader in many other fandoms.

I have in the past been involved in all kinds of fandom activity - running awards sites, making wallpapers, maintaining fan websites, etc. However, my *current* activities are detailed below.

Reading and Writing Fanfiction

I tend to choose fanfiction on the basis of plot, not pairing; I'll read and write gen, het, slash or femmeslash, and there aren't many characters or pairings I won't try (though admittedly there are a few). I don't have OTPs - even when I have favourite pairings, I'll happily read those characters with other people if the stories are good enough. However, I detest any kind of character bashing.

I am a particular fan of powerfics; that is, stories involving relationships (platonic or romantic) between people of different ranks. My favourite forms of these are slavefics and fics revolving around royalty and heads of state. I also enjoy themes such as time travel, parenting issues (generally with adult 'children'), hurt/comfort and forced or arranged marriages.

Creating Fanfiction Resources

I have a great love for compiling resources to help people find good websites, stories, etc, to go to. I think perhaps I have a slight (or major?) addiction to making fandom-related lists.

I've created a large amount of thematic lists of fanfiction over the years; too many to really list them all here. However, you can find them all linked from these websites, which I also created and maintain, and which include both rec and thematic lists:

I have also created a number of other resources which I hope you may find interesting:

  • Jane Austen resource list to help you find information, fan communities, images, icons, fanfiction archives and recs, free text and audio versions of the novels and even a Jane Austen font. Basically lists every website connected with Austen that I can find or am told about.
  • Powerfics resource page to help you find good archives, lists, communities and more to do with powerfic (which includes slavefics, military fics, royalty and nobility stories, etc).
  • List of ficsearching communities together with a guide to using them.

Livejournal Communities

I created and moderate the following multi-fandom communities for posting, recommending and talking about thematic fanfiction:

I am also a member of around 200 other Livejournal communities of various different types.

Fanfiction Challenge Communities

While I rarely take part in actually writing fics for challenges (I have on occasion, but not often), I love coming up with prompts for them, and regularly do so for different challenges. I also run a number of fanfiction challenge communities myself:

There is also an ongoing prompts list shared between my Slavefics and D/s Fics communities and the Original Slave Fiction community, here.

Icons and Other Graphics

While I'm not involved in this as much as I used to be, I do still occasionally get the urging to make icons, and even (far more rarely) wallpapers, screencaps and other graphics.

  • Partial Eclipse - my personal graphics site (I also post in some Livejournal communities)
