United Federation of Star Trek Fans was a 1970s Star Trek: TOS fan club based in Illinois, US.
It was previously titled "Star Trek National Fan Club" which apparently has nothing to do with Star Trek National Fan Club. Under that previous title, the club published Star Trek Junior, which the first editor admitted was "an inferior fanzine." [2]
James Blish was an honorary member, as was Gene Roddenberry. Blish was aware of this fact, but as stated in Star Trek Today #5, Roddenberry had no idea.
This club's sole purpose was to publish Star Trek Today, and the club folded when its president gafiated.
When the current editor of Star Trek Today took over, he sold the club's unused business cards as well as other merch:
UNITED FEDERATION OF STAR TREK FANS LIQUIDATION SALE!I I want to get rid of the following: Various unused pencils and Bic pens with messages emblazoned on them: UNITE TO SAVE THE SHOW; MR. SPOCK FOR PRESIDENT; I GROK SPOCK; SPOCK IT TO ME. Pencils are 10 cents ea. Pens are 35 cents ea. Limited supply. [3]
