Reactions and Reviews
It's refreshing to see a story from a different point of view, especially as things were just allowed to flow as they came, rather than the author succumbing to the urge to explain everything, which can often spoil a story. Here we have what one might consider to be a "typical" adventure for Blair (though where the idea comes from that Blair is blaze' about being kidnapped by bad guys -- ah well, more fanon) but this is told nicely from the point of view of someone other than Blair or Jim. Jim-lovers probably won't like this story so much, because he's hardly there, he only turns up briefly at the end. There was also a bit of a niggle in that I didn't think that drug-dealers were ever drug-users, but who am I to say? So... what do *you* think? [1]
Told by one of a gang robbing a convenience store it's more or less a tale of 'Blair is taken hostage... again'.In general, I'm not a great lover of stories told in first person, but sometimes they work very well, and this is one that does. Rick, who tells the story, develops as an interesting character, and his comments about other members of the gang - 'That's what too much cocaine does to ya.' 'He's an unfeeling SOB.' - are brief but say a lot about both them and Rick himself.
I was surprised to discover that Gemini has never been recced here. I've enjoyed all of her stories.[2]
