Description

Yes, it's a delicate subject. But, there are more of us slinking around out there than you think! This is intended to be a haven for those people who love to write U2 Slash. This is a group for writers who are interested in finding Beta Readers and/or receiving Critiques and Honest Feedback. Whether you've been writing for years, or are just thinking of picking up a pen for the first time, you are welcome here.

Fan Memories

[...] I got to thinking that if NSync had slash fanfiction, maybe U2 did as well and went on a hunt.

I did the google thing, and came across Lacy's site and Sunny's site and those were the first bits of U2 slash I ever read. I was immediately in love. This had to have been around December of 2001, I imagine. I also already had a livejournal account by this time and had friended both Lacy and Sunny, though I can't remember whether or not I realized they were the people I'd been reading. At one point, I do remember Lacy mentioning the U2Bubblegum list over at yahoo and I jumped on that and that's how my experience widened. [...]

During a violin concerto at school one night in mid January 2002, I got a random image of Larry sprawled out on a hotel bed and Bono standing there staring at him and immediately started writing Just Once. And I'm not kidding either, I started writing it during the intermission of that concert. About a week later I had the rough draft of the first chapter and asked for a beta on the U2Bubblegum and the beautiful Cazzabear e-mailed me back and gave me the confidence I needed to post the damn thing.

And the rest, I guess, is history.
