Author's Note

There is so much to say about this fic, I don't really know where to start. For one thing, I know there are several other stories along these lines out there, but I never meant to copy anyone. In fact I started writing this story October, 3rd 2008. I know that because I was working at RingCon this day and used my lunch break to begin this epic all the while being surrounded by hobbits and orks. I finished this story February 2009, but it took some time to get this ready for posting.
This leads me to the second and most important point. This story belongs to ufp13 . She typed this story, was its beta reader, created the banner, the icon and the trailer. I only wrote this thing. And yes, I mean this... she typed all 18 chapters. When I was done with the story, it consisted of 18 letters. Thank you, hon! For typing it, for everything else and for allowing me to share it. You rock, and I love you muchly!

Wonderful story!

I started reading it a few days ago and finished thus chapter today! Made me late for EVERY thing the last couple of days!!! M I just couldn't stoP reading!!!

OMFGs chapter 17 was almost too frakin' HOT my brain was mush for half an hour!

It was perfect, the way they talked about everything, the loveliness.. &hearts Bill is just so perfect. And the little kiddies! That was a nice touch. *tries to remember* AHA! the dirty kindergarden! You keep throwing hints huh? *wiggles eyebrows* No but, really, that was great. Bill talking and being a sweetheart with the kids... *sighs*

And Laura. Laura. I love the sense of humor you've given her. The sarcasm, and the hints, and her being impossible.

And the trip to Tauron. He doesn't miss one, does he? *hums* More love to Bill.

Anyways, this 20 days (20, because you left 2 days on Easter so.. well 18+2..) have been amazing. I'm gonna miss the updates for this one. I mean it :) But it was the perfect ending :D Without cliffhangers, like Complicated Disaster *laughs*!

And this is random but I like Olivia. Seems like a very lovely character. Not like Samuel, not like Anna, but she has so much in common with Laura.

A story in a book or in real life would never end differently, no matter how much you tried to avoid its ending. This really made quite an impression on me. Very poignant. Beautifully said.

This was an exquisite journey and your style, as bold as it is, made it quite memorable. AU stories are the greatest gift for A/R fans because they depict a happier world in which these two so forlorn characters actually "live like people again" as Bill once said. So thank you for this gift! :))

and what the heck am i supposed to be reading now with my morning coffee??!! darling, this was a lovely ending to a wonderful story - and it ended on galactica, what a wonderful idea!!! - and i truly enjoyed every bit of it (and yes, the kara/laura dialogue at the beginning of this chapter was totally win! :) ). thank you!

Ah, well, I know you adviced me not to read the chapter, but since I already knew what was about to come and I just couldn't close my eyes... It was kind of a challenge. I still think of this as wrong in so many levels, but the fact that Samuel didn't actually sleep with her was comforting. Of course, I kind of read quickly through the more... serious/hot... parts, but the impression as a whole wasn't as negative as I had expected. It did bring me to the very end of my tolerance line, it crossed that line a bit, but it was bearable and Samuel leaving made indeed great difference. You actually did the impossible- wrote a threesome which I can bear reading. I can't think of a bigger compliment than that... wow!

Also, thank you for accepting my negative opinion- most of the authors have very fragile egos and the fact that you didn't send me to hell after my first comment says a lot about your potential as a writer. I have deep respect for people who have the guts to accept negative opinions without being defensive or hypocritical. This is a great quality you have there.

So, I'm looking forward to reading the last chapter! :))

I'll admit that this chapter (17) made me uncomfortable and I read it through the slits of my fingers as I had covered my eyes with my hand. I think you have done a good job building on the themes of love, trust, family, and friends in this story. You have built a family for Bill and Laura with Kara and Lee. You have shown the importance of friendship with Saul and Samuel. You have taken Bill and Laura from acquaintances who didn't really like each other to friends and then lovers and then husband/wife with trust being central to their growth as a couple. So, when I look at this chapter through these themes I think that it is true to your story. And, it was very HOT.

OMG THIS WAS PERFECT it's also the reason why I'm sleep-deprived xD
