Tuvix was a a Starfleet Lieutenant who briefly served on the USS Voyager. Born out of a transporter accident that fused Tuvok, Neelix, and an orchid, he was ultimately killed by Voyager captain Kathryn Janeway in order to bring Tuvok and Neelix back to the ship.[1] His fate as well as the role Janeway played in it have long been a source of heated discussions in the Star Trek fandom.

Tuvix appeared in a single episode of Voyager, S2E24: Tuvix.[2]

In November 2020, American politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez participated in a Twitter debate around Tuvix's fate.[3]
