Reactions and Reviews

First, some background on Sis. She’s an early TS writer; publishing in print zines and online in Guide Posts and the Cascade Library. Her work wasn’t housed at either location; it was part of Radio Free Cascade and, later, the Any Road site. But when I found Any Road five years ago, Sis wasn’t listed on the face page; you could only read her stories if you knew the links. Now, Any Road is also gone, and Sis’s stories are housed at the Brothers in Arms archive. So, although she wrote many of these stories fifteen years ago, she’ll be brand new to some people. She writes angst, humor, episode-related, minor characters and more. I had to choose one story, but you’re free to peruse. Why this must be read: It’s a Thanksgiving story with some pathos. Blair requests that they have a “traditional” Thanksgiving dinner. Jim objects, until an offhand remark reminds him that between the dissertation disaster, Blair being harassed until he’s forced to leave the academy and feeling adrift in the aftermath, that granting Blair’s wish doesn’t seem like too much to ask. Enjoy.[2]
