Tumblrcon is a kind of virtual con fair by Tumblr hence its name, which can be organized by fans independently or through official cons.

The creation of a tumblrcon can be due to external issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic, which canceled several in-person events, or by personal choice due to the practicality of this virtual con modality.

A tumblrcon is an event held on tumblr in a specific tag over a few days (or sometimes longer) wherein there is an organized release of category posts by con “staff” (ie fan volunteers) much like panels at an actual convention. In the past, my friend sirdef has organized many of these tumblr events, an example being MarvelCon, which you can see a masterpost of content for examples of “panels” here. As with a real convention, this is only one part of it!
